Sustainable Buildings
Sustainable construction is a concept called a set of practices before, during and after the construction work in order to obtain a building that does not harm the environment, better thermal comfort without (or with reduced need for) energy consumption and improving the quality of life of its residents / users, in addition to using materials and techniques to ensure greater energy efficiency
The idea of sustainable construction is not so new, but like almost everything, it took a bit to get to Portugal. Countries like USA, Japan and the Nordic countries have even created incentives for entrepreneurs or common people who opt for environmentally friendly buildings. And even those who do not have much capital to invest in a new home can take advantage of incentives to perform minor renovations. The main incentives are still in the field of reducing energy consumption.
Along with choosing the right materials it is necessary to check the suppliers to ensure that they environmentally safe origin, especially in the case of wood.
Wood is the oldest building material, being the best example of respect for the environment, because it is a renewable, durable and resistant material.
The wood used by Woodcasa is controlled from its origin.
